Econosto UK History

Econosto UK started life in 1984 as Ball Valves UK Ltd with the aim of filling the gap in the UK’s rapidly growing valve supply market. Few companies held large enough stocks to deliver to the short lead times demanded by customers and enabling this by maintaining a large stockholding was key to the new company’s strategy.

This successful approach enabled rapid expansion within a few years and the opening of strategically located branches in Aberdeen and Glasgow in addition to the purpose built warehouse and Head Office in Leicester.

In 1998 the company was acquired by the Dutch Econosto Group, bringing a vast array of complementary products to the UK company. These ranged from industrial and marine valves to instrumentation, gauges, gaskets and hoses, products which enabled the company to further expand its offering to customers and reach new areas of the market.

The Econosto Group ethos of just-in-time delivery of a large range of quality products along with the ability of experienced staff to provide useful technical advice fitted well with the UK strategy.  More recently, the group has been acquired by the ERIKS Group as part of their strategy to strengthen their Valve division, particularly in the UK. This development has opened up wider opportunities for Econosto UK which continues to grow it’s market reach.

As part of the ERIKS Flow Technology division Econosto UK works alongside ERIKS Gasket Technology and ERIKS Hose Technology to ensure customer's needs are met with the best possible solution for them as well as supporting the UK wide ERIKS Industrial Services branch and service centre network.
